Material properties of DEGUSSIT oxide ceramics
Products made of DEGUSSIT oxide ceramics have been specially developed for use at high temperatures.
The strength, and thus the corrosion resistance, is determined by the chemical resistance of the grain boundary chamfers of the material structure. For optimum results, we therefore use high-purity alumina while reducing the use of by-products, particularly silicon oxide (SiO2), which lead to reduced corrosion resistance.
Finest selection of materials with high purity
For our tubes made of technical ceramics, we attach great importance to high purity in the materials used and select them according to the strictest criteria. Only in this way can we process the homogeneously formed microstructure with the most excellent care and under permanent controls to produce a ceramic tube that promises our customers and their applications special corrosion resistance and the outstanding dimensional stability that has been known for decades from the development of ceramic materials by Kyocera.
Characteristic properties of DEGUSSIT ceramic tube
- Extreme resistance to heat
- High form stability
- Extraordinary corrosion resistance
- Wear resistance
- Resistance to high electrical voltage
- Measurement accuracy due to good thermal conductivity of the materials
Ceramic tubes: product overview
In our online store we offer an extensive standard range of tubes - from ceramic tubes with an outer diameter of 0.5 mm to large tubes with an outer diameter of 170 mm. Our offer also includes the following:

Tubes made of ceramics
Tubes made of alumina ceramics are used in numerous applications thanks to their good dimensional stability at high temperatures.

Large-diameter tubes
Ceramic tubes made of alumina are, e.g., used in tube furnaces. They are high-temperature resistant and chemically inert.

Tubes one end closed (Thermocouple protection tubes)
DEGUSSIT ceramic tubes are available with one end closed. The technology used to close the tubes guarantees constant wall thicknesses in this area.

Insulation tubes
Insulating tubes made of technical ceramics are available in tiny dimensions. They show outstanding electrical insulation properties.

Thin-walled tubes
The amount of energy for heating up a system can be reduced by using thin-walled ceramic tubes. The lower mass increases the thermal shock resistance.

Tubes for oxygen sensors
Ceramic tubes made of yttria stabilised zirconia DEGUSSIT FZY are used as sensor components. Temperature resistance up to 1700°C and very good surface properties enable further applications in high temperature technology.

Tubes for oxygen sensors - one end closed
Ceramic tubes made of DEGUSSIT FZY are used for oxygen measurement, for example in flue gases to control combustion processes. At elevated temperatures, the material converts into an ion conductor.

Square tubes
Ceramic square tubes impress with their high dimensional accuracy, temperature resistance, and high dielectric strength.

Ribbed tubes
Ceramic tubes with helical grooves on the outer diameter allow precise assembly of heating wires. The alumina tubes are suited for high-frequency applications and are chemically inert.

Bubbler tubes
High-temperature resistant bubbler tubes for glass melting tanks.

Multi-bore tubes round
Round multi-bore tubes made of DEGUSSIT ceramic allow precise wire guidance thanks to homogeneous hole spacing over the entire tube length. A temperature range from cryogenic to high-temperature applications can be covered.

Multi-bore tubes oval
Oval multi-bore tubes made of DEGUSSIT ceramic are high-temperature resistant. They are used when space is limited.

Ceramic tubes for dilatometry
Sample holders made of DEGUSSIT AL23 or DEGUSSIT AL24 ensure the highest precision, reproducibility, and long-term stability even at highest temperatures.

Tubes made of advanced ceramics for thermogravimetry
The ceramic sample holder is connected to a microbalance that records mass changes precisely while the test sample is exposed to heat. DEGUSSIT AL23 ensures accurate measurements for this procedure.
