Kyocera Fineceramics Europe GmbH
This is us
KYOCERA Fineceramics Europe GmbH is a subsidiary of KYOCERA Europe GmbH which belongs to the Kyocera Group headquartered in Kyoto, Japan. Today, the Kyocera Group, one of the world's leading suppliers of advanced ceramic components for the technology industry, offers over 200 different ceramic materials as well as state-of-the-art technologies and services tailored to the individual needs of each market.
We have grown in recent years - and we still have big plans. As a leading European developer and producer of high-performance ceramics, we have specialised in creating customised solutions in partnership that offer added value for our customers in their respective markets and sustainably secure their technological advantage. We are committed to this every day.
With our two production and development sites in Mannheim and Selb as well as customised supply chain solutions, we are very agile and flexible and guarantee the best possible security of supply. We are represented throughout Europe with six sales offices: Mannheim, Selb, Esslingen, Neuss, Rungis/France and Frimley/United Kingdom.
Our hearts beat completely for ceramics. Our team provides comprehensive advice on the selection of ceramic materials, product design and project execution – from the development stage to prototype production and series production. We supply system components for high-tech applications in numerous industries: electrical and sensor technology, mechanical engineering, analytical technology as well as medical and semiconductor technology. For laboratory and environmental technology, we offer system solutions for decentralised exhaust air purification and neutralisation of waste water. Our products are characterised by high quality, precision, and durability.
Our business partners benefit from the fact that we think and work across divisions within the Kyocera Group. Because innovations and real milestones can only be achieved together - across industries and national borders. That is our conviction.
As early as 1971, the Kyocera Group ventured into Europe by founding a joint venture with the then Feldmühle AG. Since then, this market has been a strategically important one for the Japanese technology corporation. With the aim of further growth, the European fine ceramics division has been strongly developed in recent years. For example, the division, which until then had specialised in the sale of technical ceramics produced in Japan, was expanded in 2019 through the acquisition of two European production and development sites, among other things.
Our Mannheim site can look back on a history of over 150 years and thus has great expertise in the development and production of ceramic products. Founded in 1863 as Reinhard'sche Ziegelei, the company, which was most recently part of FRIATEC GmbH, was acquired by the Kyocera Group in 2019 as KYOCERA Fineceramics Solutions GmbH.
Also in 2019, the then H.C. Starck Ceramics GmbH in Selb was incorporated into the Kyocera Group. Under the name KYOCERA Fineceramics Precision GmbH, the first European production facility of the Japanese group's fine ceramics division was established. The Selb site was founded in 1985 as “Hutschenreuther Technische Keramik” and has since steadily expanded both its development and production capacities.
The merger of these two traditional production sites and the fine ceramics division of KYOCERA Europe GmbH created KYOCERA Fineceramics Europe GmbH. This company bundles all European activities of the Japanese group in the field of technical ceramics. This enables us to always be close to our customers and to offer them the full product portfolio of the Kyocera fine ceramics division. The growth story of our company is set to continue in the future, which is illustrated, among other things, by large investments at the production sites, both in infrastructure and in the research and development of new technologies.
Production
State-of-the-art production equipment and a spirit of innovation for uncompromising quality
To us, standstill means a step backwards. We see ourselves as a think tank for innovative solutions in high-performance ceramics.
The combination of state-of-the-art machinery of Industry 4.0 standard and the expertise of our employees are behind our high-quality products and a portfolio of satisfied customers. Are you interested in our high-performance ceramics solutions? We look forward to hearing from you.
Production and technology paired with expertise and a spirit of innovation. We place high demands on our products and even higher demands on ourselves. We at KYOCERA therefore commit to an on-going improvement process.
Making ceramic solutions with even more precision, complexity and quality than we are already doing. And we do this along the entire value chain, from powder preparation to the finished component and careful final inspection, all in the company.
Management of the spray tower systems has been modernized for an efficient workflow. The pressing equipment and pressing processes will soon undergo modernization. Our green machining equipment has already been replaced by state-of-the-art lathes, which allow for the machining of components with large dimensions, as well as turning and milling in a single step. We would like to continue increasing our sintering capacities and have therefore planned new, larger, kilns – of course also with a view to the sintering of promising large-scale components. It was an absolute highlight for us when we upgraded our milling machines to state-of-the-art 5-axis milling machines. These enable us to machine components from 300 mm to 1,000 mm and to manufacture complex components with sophisticated structures and dimensions. Last but not least, our grinding machinery was completely modernized. We can therefore guarantee you finishing of high-quality components with accuracies in the μm range.
