The ceramic material silicon nitride is an all-around talent among technical ceramics due to its excellent mechanical, thermal and electrical properties. With its high strength, fracture toughness, outstanding thermal shock resistance as well as its great wear and impact resistance, silicon nitride is suitable for various applications, for example in foundry technology, where thermocouple protection tubes and heating protection tubes are used.
